Catholic Schools Week is a great time to reflect on what makes our Catholic school "The greatest gift you can give your child."  As a part of this reflection, and as we prepare our celebrations, I've asked myself, "What are you passionate about in your ministry in Catholic education?"

The answer, of course, came easliy:

I am passionate about making the students feel known, welcomed, and loved.  I am passionate about having our students fell like this is "home away from home."   I hope every day to create a climate that engages happy learners, creates confident young people, and is a place where we all learn from our mistakes.

I am passionate about the continued growth and success of our teachers.  My passion is ignited as I see them beam when a challenging lesson went well, listen to them share success stories, and watch as they try something new for the benefit of our students.

I am passionate about our Catholic Mission!   Praying the rosary, going to Mass, attending prayer services together, teaching our students to be kind because we are all Children of God, these are ultimately the things that drive me to continue my work in Catholic education.

During this upcoming week of celebrating what we do here at OLA School, I invite you, too, to reflect on what drives your desire to have your children at a Catholic school. What do you hope to instill in them as a result of the education you are providing for them?  What can you do to become more involed in the mission?

At our faith-filled, academically excellent school, I look forward to our continued partnership -  working together to show our students how to Learn, Serve, Lead, and Succeed!!

Peace and blessings,
Doreen Albert, Principal
