Elementary Grades (1st – 5th)

A peek inside our classrooms with a message from the teachers:

From Mrs. Ahearn: In our first grade classroom, learning is our adventure! Our classroom is warm, inviting, and filled with colorful displays of student work. There’s a strong sense of community where students are taught kindness and respect, and encouraged to explore, and ask questions, and embrace their unique strengths. Our first grade classroom is a place where learning is a fun experience, friendships are made, and every day brings new opportunities for growth.

From Ms. Peabody: In our second grade classroom, the environment is warm, welcoming, and conducive to learning. The space is designed to promote both individual focus and collaborative work. Throughout the day, students are encouraged to ask questions, work together, and help one another. The environment is structured, yet flexible, with a daily routine that balances lessons, creative activities, and breaks. A sense of respect, responsibility, and kindness is emphasized, helping to foster a positive community where every student feels valued and motivated to succeed.

From Mrs. Allison: In our third grade classroom we set the bar high and allow the students to meet the expectations! We focus on a productive learning environment, creating opportunities for our students to practice their skills and expand on their understanding. We strive for a learning environment that is adapted to suit the individual needs of each student.  From the beginning we set clear expectations, creating a sense of community, and providing positive reinforcement. The goal is to create a kind environment where students feel safe everyday.

From Mrs. Shahood: The 4th grade classroom is a warm, inviting learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and safe. We focus on kindness at the root of each lesson, so that we may work it into our every day actions. Each student is given what they need in order to be successful, while being encouraged and supported every step of the way, and ultimately pushing them to learn more and be challenged at their level. Students and parents love 4th grade!

From Mrs. Forte: When students walk into our classroom the buzz of adventure awaits them.  Learning is an an adventure, which we hope to embrace! Students should feel comfortable to ask questions because I feel that engaging in the learning experience is personal: what one brings in will help shape his/her personal experience.  As with any adventure, exploration takes place! In fifth grade our day is shaped with English, Reading, Math, Religion, and Social Studies/History.  Diving into the subjects with the support of hands-on activities is our focus! As with any thing we do, that we love, our days go by pretty quickly.  When we leave, it’s that bit of knowledge we discovered that we take with us and share within our world!
