– Saint Julie Billiart, Foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur
About Our Lady of the Angels School
Our Lady of the Angels School is a parochial elementary school for boys and girls in preschool through grade eight. The School is located in Worcester, Massachusetts, in the Worcester Diocese, at 1220 Main Street. The School provides an alternative educational option for students who strive to attain educational proficiency and personal growth. The curriculum is selective in offering academic opportunities to encourage the students to develop their potential. The faculty accepts the challenge to ensure top-quality Catholic education to all regardless of race, creed, color or national origin.
Our Lady of the Angels School was founded in 1947 under the leadership of Father M. Charles Carey, the pastor of Our Lady of the Angels Parish, and the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The educational principles of Our Lady of the Angels School are based on those of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, who in 1804 envisioned a teaching order, flexible enough to interpret the needs of changing times and to adapt itself to them. They entrusted the teachers with the obligation to educate the students to be aware of what is happening in their lives, and be able to assume responsibility to themselves and others. Although the Sisters no longer staff the school, their loving legacy continues. Our educational objectives are geared to the spiritual, academic, social, and physical growth of the whole child as a member of the Christian community, with responsibilities to God, oneself and others.

Vision
Our Lady of the Angels School will prepare students to become independent thinkers who base their actions upon the religious foundations of Jesus Christ. They will continue to be nurtured and grow through their daily interactions among peers, school personnel, parents, and community. Every child will be recognized as an individual and a contributing member of a community that embraces, with respect and acceptance, the cultural, social, and educational differences of its members. The students will recognize their role as responsible participants in an environment that promotes compassion and service for all God’s children through outreach projects. Faculty will be encouraged to continue their professional development in an effort to incorporate new and effective programs into a curriculum that is aimed at allowing the opportunity for each child to reach his/her maximum potential as a student, a citizen, and a child of God.

Message from Mrs. Meighan Allison
In our third grade classroom we set the bar high and allow the students to meet the expectations! We focus on a productive learning environment, creating opportunities for our students to practice their skills and expand on their understanding. We strive for a learning environment that is adapted to suit the individual needs of each student. From the beginning we set clear expectations, creating a sense of community, and providing positive reinforcement. The goal is to create a kind environment where students feel safe everyday.

Grade 4
Message from Mrs. Jaime Shahood
The 4th grade classroom is a warm, inviting learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and safe. We focus on kindness at the root of each lesson, so that we may work it into our every day actions. Each student is given what they need in order to be successful, while being encouraged and supported every step of the way, and ultimately pushing them to learn more and be challenged at their level. Students and parents love 4th grade!

Grade 5
Message from Mrs. Jaime Shahood
When students walk into our classroom the buzz of adventure awaits them. Learning is an an adventure, which we hope to embrace! Students should feel comfortable to ask questions because I feel that engaging in the learning experience is personal: what one brings in will help shape his/her personal experience. As with any adventure, exploration takes place! In fifth grade our day is shaped with English, Reading, Math, Religion, and Social Studies/History. Diving into the subjects with the support of hands-on activities is our focus! As with any thing we do, that we love, our days go by pretty quickly. When we leave, it’s that bit of knowledge we discovered that we take with us and share within our world!
