Literature
Timeless Voices, Timeless Themes is a comprehensive, integrated language arts program based on solid reading research. Forms (genres) of literature studied are the novel and novella, short story, nonfiction, poetry, drama, and the American folk tradition.

Math
Seventh graders cover the following topics in Math: Working with integers, positive and negative numbers, fractions, decimals, expressions, functions, equations and inequalities, axioms and properties, equations in problem solving, directed numbers with all four operations, polynomials (all four operations), products, and factoring.

Religion
The seventh grade curriculum centers on the person and the mission of Jesus as they are presented in the four gospels. We put together a complete picture of Jesus’ life and His importance for our lives as Christians and as God’s people, the Church.
Science
The text is Glencoe Science Voyages, Levels Red and Green. The seventh grade red level is basically a life science focus, concentrating on the structure of organisms, bacteria, fungus and protists. We incorporate information on current research in the fields of technology and medicine. We do a unit of study on AIDS. We are hands-on in group activities and have outside research reports and projects expressed through power point presentations. In the green level text, we also do units on electricity, magnetism, weathering, oceanography, and, if time, the systems of the human body.

  English
Students are expected to continue to develop strategies that give focus to their writing. Students are expected to write research reports and are instructed in all steps of the research process, from identifying topics to preparing bibliographies. We also place a strong emphasis on grammar and spend the year identifying and understanding different parts of speech.
Social Studies
In Social Studies we focus on World Geography and World Cultures. This program introduces students to an enriched view of the interrelationships between geography, history, economics, government, citizenship, and current events. A strong geographic emphasis is interwoven with history, government, and current events to analyze different regions of the world and the issues they face.

The seventh grade also collects items for Problem Pregnancy as a yearlong service project.
